Iron is a great material to use for chandeliers as it is tough and hardwearing and usually you will find that it requires little cleaning unlike a more polished finish of chandelier which needs constant polishing and dusting to keep it sparkling. We have a wide choice at the Chandeliers Depot, and you can choose from many different styles of iron finish.
Iron chandeliers have a far more stark and bold look than a glass or chrome chandelier may have. This means that the kinds of iron chandeliers that you are likely to find here at the chandeliers depot are quite heavy and imposing. Medieval, western and gothic style chandeliers suit iron the best. You should be careful if you will be choosing an iron chandelier from our range rather than simply an iron finish because iron is one of the heavier metals. You will need to make sure that your ceiling can support the extra weight of a pure iron chandelier frame. Sometimes you need to use reinforced joists and electrical wiring.
The different kinds of iron and iron finish chandeliers that we have at the Chandeliers Depot include wrought iron, forged iron and die cast iron. Die cast iron is used for the motifs on some of our chandeliers. Flower like or similar motifs can be created using the die cast method and these decorate our wrought iron medieval chandeliers.
Some of our more traditional and ornate iron chandeliers features colored iron. We have one traditional style iron chandelier in particular that has brightly colored forged iron flowers that entwine around the chandelier frame.
Most of our iron chandeliers use faux wax candles to illuminate them, as this is the kind of fitting that suits them the best. Our wrought iron medieval chandeliers feature faux wax candles that stand on top of a hammered ring or the faux candles are poised on top of spear headed arms. This gives a Loxley look to the chandeliers, which hang gracefully but boldly from iron chains. Similarly, our ornately designed gothic chandeliers twist and twirl to create a traditional and gothic look, which is illuminated by faux wax candles. These gothic iron chandeliers are decorated with glass crystal cut droplets to add a touch of class and elegance.
We also have some linear iron chandeliers. These feature iron oblong frames, which hold up candles on elegantly curved spiked arms. These are great if you have a longer room to illuminate or if you want to hang the chandelier over a long table.
To bring the outdoors in, we have some lantern chandeliers that are created with iron. The dark frames and the silver mica shades give a stark contrasting look and they look great in a room that is decorated in a contemporary style with lighter paintwork.
You are sure to be able to find a bold and fitting iron chandelier for your home or business here at the Chandeliers Depot. You have a variety of types of ironwork to choose from and each achieves a different look.
